To learn what it’s like to work at ASCO, click here. Who we are looking for: ASCO’s Member Services department is seeking a highly-motivated intern to join the Membership Development team. The intern will analyze member engagement data and develop reports, presentations, and general summaries to assist the delivery of value to members; develop tactics to increase member usage and engagement on the myConnection platform; and support the development of a membership communications plan.Internship activities include:  * Learning about ASCO members and customer audiences to understand their professional needs and how ASCO delivers value through membership in the organization.   * Researching how members engage with programs, products, and services, and develop reporting and analysis to showcase their findings.   * Assisting with the administration of member engagement programs such as our online professional networking platform and myConnection; and investigate potential membership benefit programs  * Developing a communications plan to Fellow of ASCO (FASCO) point earners to showcase the two milestones’ members reach at 25 and 50 points  * Providing general support to the membership team    Required qualifications:  * Currently enrolled in an undergraduate BA/BS degree program, or graduate program, or recently graduated from a 4-year degree program. Candidates must be at least a junior or entering their junior year of college at the start of the internship.  * An interest in conducting analysis   * Proficiency working with data in Microsoft excel  * Ability to craft a narrative and generate reports and/or presentations about the data to help us understand member engagement  * Experience conducting light environmental scans and research is a plus   * Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite (365 preferred)   * Strong interpersonal and communication skills  * Professionalism   * Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with flexibility to adapt to changing needs  * Solid organizational and time management skills and impeccable attention to detail   * Excellent customer service skills and professionalism   * Willingness to enhance skills     Duration: 10 weeks during the summer – June 10, 2024, to August 16, 2024. This internship is 37.5 hours per week.    Compensation: This summer internship position is paid. Additionally, ASCO will provide parking or a metro subsidy to the successful candidate.    Location: This internship is based in Alexandria, VA and will require working onsite. Candidates should reside in the D.C. metro area or be able to relocate at their own expense.
