About the job
Unpaid remote internship or volunteer opportunity, 5-30 (flexible) hours per
week and a flexible start and end dates.
Join our team of mission-driven young people from all around the United States
to help amplify youth civic engagement and participate in activism on many
progressive/social justice issues including climate change, racial justice,
reproductive rights, and ending gun violence, and combating voter suppression in
the United States.
Benefits: Eligible to receive community service hours or course credit (if you
coordinate with your school), work in teams with other young people to
participate in activism and learn civics, bolster your resume, earn valuable
letters of recommendation, flexible hours per week, apply anytime, eligible to
win awards and prizes including the President's Volunteer Service Award, broaden
your networking scope, and hear from world renowned speakers.
Key Curriculum: Work on teams to participate in grassroots activism and advocacy
on civic and social justice issues you care about while doing research to become
better educated and aware about these topics. All interns are expected to join
and help with existing registration drives at their schools, and if there isn’t
one at their school, we support their success in initiating and performing their
own registration efforts whether that be peer-to-peer or running a drive (with
the permission of their school).
Skills Developed: Communication, Collaboration, Leadership, Critical Thinking,
Writing, and more.
Hours Per Week: You choose between 5 and 30+ hours.
End Date: Flexible
Application Deadline: Rolling - TurnUp will accept applications year-round until
all team positions are filled.
Specialized Teams: While completing this application, you will also have the
option to join our Graphic Design team.
More Internship Details: This is a great opportunity for those looking to impact
change in their community, refine their activist efforts, strengthen democracy
in the United States, and meet other like-minded young people! Interns will
collaborate on a variety of tasks, communicate regularly, and meet virtually on
a weekly basis. This is a collaborative internship where interns will develop
their democratic competency. Interns participate in civic actions, work on voter
turnout projects, perform targeted outreach, engage in advocacy and activism,
find and participate in volunteer opportunities together, attend the TurnUp
Speaker Series, as well as do civic and activism related research and writing.
Most importantly, they will work together to advocate for issues important to
young people, fight voter suppression and boost youth voter turnout in the
United States. Upon completion, interns are prepared to go forward being
civically responsible and engaged activists.

voter turnout by reaching over 60 million young voters online, texting 10
