Wendt Center

The Wendt Center for Loss and Healing is a nationally recognized brand that specializes in grief, trauma, and mental health. Since 1975, they have been dedicated to helping individuals and families in the Greater Washington area rebuild their lives after experiencing loss, illness, violence, or other traumatic events. They offer a wide range of holistic services for children, teens, adults, and families. Their programs include individual and group therapy, crisis response services, and community healing events. They also provide specialized treatment for individuals who have been victimized by violence and are suffering from trauma. Child and teen services are a core part of their mission, and they offer healing services specifically tailored to meet the needs of young individuals. This includes a therapeutic grief camp called Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC, as well as a school-based Resilient Scholars program. The Wendt Center operates on a sliding scale basis according to need, and they also accept many insurances.

They rely on donations and grant support to sustain their services, with 20% of their operating funds coming from individual donations.
